This unique vintage bakelite brooch attributed to Charles Elkaim is fun, flirty and extremely collectible. This is true vintage 50s injection dot bakelite and beads. This piece features 4 large cream-colored bakelite discs dotted with root-beer, red, green, and butterscotch. From those dangle round green bakelite beads.
The top is a giant green bakelite designed to look like a big safety pin. Meet findings are attached via screws/pegs not glue.
This is a collectors fantasy piece, very rare and original. Comes from estate of Tampa Socialite. Length vertical 4 1/2 inches. Disc Size just under 1 1/2 inches.
Metal shows a little age as expected, but all intact. Discs have warm patina as vintage bakelite does (base color was likely closer to white originally, but darkens with age giving it a warmth). Discs have subtle variations as normal to the manufacturing process. One disc has a short hairline crack on the backside, but doesn't affect the integrity.
