EXTREMELY RARE Antique Art Deco Charming Carved Bakelite Style Early Plastic Dog Brooch Pin. Circa 1920's - 30's. Would make a GORGEOUS GIFT for any Dog Lover! An utterly charming antique Art Deco carved Bakelite style early plastic brooch pin. This adorable dog has an articulated hat which can be worn at a jaunty angle and looks super cute.

He has a beady glass eye and hand-painted detail in green, red and black. Some of the paint is a little worn in places, commensurate with age, but I think this just adds to his immense charm. I have tested this with Simichrome - there was a colour change but this is probably just dirt (see last photo). Therefore, even though it does look like Bakelite, I can only assume it is not, but some other form of early plastic.

The brooch fastens with a simple C catch. Suitable for either a Lady or a Man. Or 62mm from tip to toe. In Very Good Antique Condition. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
