Bakelite Toy Soldier, Articulated, Jointed Figural Brooch

Articulated Bakelite Toy Soldier Brooch. I made this brooch for my Uniqlets line of one of a kind jewelry made with upcycled vintage parts. The head and torso of this brooch are a vintage 1940s piece. Unfortunately, the charming little guy, with moustache and rosy cheeks and silver buttons on his jacket, had lost his legs and arms.

I made his legs from a vintage utensil handle and added the two black Bakelite pieces as feet. His arms are vintage necklace pieces.

I attached the arms and legs with black celluloid rings. He stands 4 inches tall by about 2.5 inches wide and closes with a rollover c-clasp. Much of the feather on his hat is gone, it is quite brittle.
