Gorgeous CADORO Signed Vintage Bakelite Faux Tortoise Shell Brooch, Pin, Jewelry

Cadoro, in existence from the 1950s to the 1980s, produced high end costume jewelry that has been said to not only look real, but to rival the beauty of fine jewelry. Their signature designs were big and bold hand crafted pieces, using exemplary materials from all over the world. Based upon movie star jewelry, their pieces were famously glamorous and popular with the jet set. Their Hollywood inspired jewelry is highly collectible. This vintage brooch is a fabulous example of Cadoro at its best. Four rounded faux tortoise shell Bakelite cabochons are intersected by heavily textured gold plate; a fifth cabochon is placed on top, giving this piece added dimension. The Bakelite cabochons are of superior quality and dazzling.

When light hits them, their translucence is set ablaze with a show of ambers, oranges, and browns that rival the beauty of the marbled, varicolored genuine tortoiseshell. This is a smart and classic brooch that effortlessly combines boldness and elegance. The brooch is large, and measures approximately 2 1/8" x 2 1/8". The pin back is in good working order.
